关于卫生间的几个单词 (Toilet/Restroom 辨析)

提到卫生间或许有人会说，Go to the toilet, 这种表达方式虽然对，但不是太好。Go to the washroom或 bathroom在日常生活中更常用些，当然如果需要更文雅一点的，我们还可以说Go to the restroom. 注意此处的restroom不是"休息室"的意思 (休息室常用的表达方式是lounge，lobby，foyer etc.)

当我们在一些高雅场所，比如说在大饭店或是出席社交宴会时，如果我们用"Where is the toilet?"肯定不太好。因为服务员小姐那么美丽动人，你这样问人家显然不合适。如果是在宴会上，当别人都在用餐时，你说出带有"厕所"这样的字眼显然不文明，最好说 "Excuse me, where can I wash my hands?" 美国人在日常生活中还习惯说"Where can I do something?" 我们听了后往往会一头雾水，如果你不明就里，一定会迁强附会的回答说："Yeah, you can do anything anywhere." 言外之意是"你可以在任何地方随地大小便！"这个笑话就开大了。

Bobo, you reminde me Japanese people. As they can not pronounce "V", it's common mistake when they write down have as habe

BTW, we can also use "men's room" or "women's room" instead of toilet.
